Meeting the needs of seafarers and their families.

Day 3 - Pt Hedland_edited.jpg

Seafarers

There are 1.5 million seafarers across the world from various backgrounds.

For 365 days a year, they travel through international waters exporting our resources and delivering freight for Australia’s economy. Seafarers spend up to nine months or more at sea away from family, friends and loved ones.

This can often lead to loneliness, mental health issues and sickness. With limited internet access on vessels, seafarers need the support of the Mission to Seafarers to help with food, supplies, communications, gifts, and more.
